Empowering Educators: Hillcrest Christian College Staff Successfully Complete Mental Health First Aid Training at the Swinburne Centre

Earlier this month the Richmond Institute welcomed staff from Hillcrest Christian College to the Swinburne Centre to participate in the Mental Health First Aid course.

The engaging and collaborative session was successful, with 25 staff trained on the day and plenty of thought-provoking discussions.

Wellbeing Curriculum Coordinator, Rebecca Ludlow highlighted the importance of the training.

“Completing the Mental Health First Aid training is important because mental health issues are prevalent, and we will all encounter someone who has experienced or is currently experiencing them.

It was an amazing opportunity to finish the course and enhance our staff’s capacity to support our students and colleagues. The online portion of the course was easy to follow and straightforward, and the flexibility to work at our own pace was appreciated as busy teachers. The face-to-face session with Dave was the highlight of the course. It was well-organised and perfectly timed, and our staff found Dave’s presentation captivating.

We have already begun to apply what we learned, and the course has been incredibly beneficial. We appreciate the Richmond Institute for organising this course and look forward to partnering with them again in the future.” If your school or organisation is interested in participating in a Mental Health First Aid course or would like to enquire about a group booking, please fill out the form here.
